KHS tennis wins WBL

LIMA — Kenton won two of three singles matches and split the two doubles matches to pick up a 3-2 win over Bath and its first Western Buckeye League tennis victory of the season. The Wildcats got wins at No. 1 singles from Taj Chahal and No. 2 singles from Hayden Robinson and a doubles win from the No. 2 pairing of Mason Bloom and Alex Stephens.

HN bats come alive in 12-5 victory over LCC

DOLA — Hardin Northern broke open a close game with a five-run fifth inning on the way to a 12-5 non-league softball win over Lima Central Catholic on Thursday afternoon. Haylei Pees had a big day at the plate collecting three hits with a triple and two RBIs to lead the Polar Bears, whose entire lineup collected at least one base hit each.

BL’s Waugh tosses 1-hitter

SPRINGFIELD – Ben Logan’s Cole Waugh threw a one-hitter and the Raiders took control with an eight-run second inning on the way to a 11-1 win over Springfield Shawnee in a Central Buckeye Conference baseball game on Thursday.

Falcons rally past CC

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale took the lead with three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning on the way to a 7-5 victory over Colonel Crawford in a non-league baseball game Thursday. Seth McElree and Aidan Loveridge both had a single and two RBIs and Wayne Frey and Brock Davis both added a pair of hits and an RBI to lead the Falcons offensively.

Regula has 5 RBIs in Raiders’ softball win

URBANA — LeAnn Regula had a triple, a double and five RBIs to lead Ben Logan past Urbana 21-11 in a Central Buckeye Conference softball matchup on Wednesday afternoon. The Raiders, who led 7-0 after two innings and 11-1 after four innings, improve to 10-4 on the season and 4-3 in CBC play.

Moots throws 2-hitter as USV topples Polar Bears

McGUFFEY — Upper Scioto Valley’s Jason Moots shut down Hardin Northern’s bats, tossing a two-hitter to lead the Rams to an 11-0 victory over the Polar Bears on Wednesday afternoon. The host Rams scored five runs in the first inning and added six more in the bottom of the fourth to improve to 3-7 overall and 2-1 in NWCC action.
