Urbana gets past BL

URBANA — Urbana scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning on the way to a 6-5 victory over Ben Logan in Central Buckeye Conference baseball action on Wednesday. The Raiders, who trailed 5-1 after two innings, rallied to tie the game with three runs in the sixth inning and one in the seventh.

VAN BUREN — After Riverdale took the lead with three runs in the top of the seventh inning, Van Buren responded with three runs of its own in the bottom half of the frame to edge the Falcons 6-5 in a Blanchard Valley Conference baseball game on Wednesday.

KHS tennis falls to VW

Van Wert defeated Kenton 4-1 in a Western Buckeye League tennis match on Wednesday afternoon. Winning for the Wildcats was the second doubles team of Mason Bloom and Alex Stephens, who were 3-6, 7-5, 6-3 victors over Storm Pierce and Nathan Rugar.

LEWISTOWN — Ben Logan grabbed the lead with a six-run seventh inning and then held off an Indian Lake rally in the bottom half of the frame for a 9-8 Central Buckeye Conference baseball win on Tuesday afternoon. The Raiders (11-1 overall and 7-0 CBC) trailed 4-3 before plating their six runs in the top of the seventh.

LEWISTON — The Ben Logan softball team took control with a six-run second inning on the way to a 10-5 win Indian Lake in Central Buckeye Conference action Tuesday. Jaz McKeen led the way for the Raiders at the plate, collecting four hits with a double and two RBIs, while Kinzie Jones added three hits including a triple.

Wildcats suffer WBL setback to Van Wert

VAN WERT — Van Wert scored twice in the bottom first inning and then added an insurance run in the sixth on the way to a 3-1 win over Kenton in Western Buckeye League baseball action on Tuesday. Trent Reichelderfer had two singles and Garrett Thomas had an RBI in the second inning to lead the Wildcats at the plate.
