McGUFFEY — Ada scored five runs in both of the first two innings and never looked back on the way to a 13-1 victory over Upper Scioto Valley in a non-league softball game on Friday afternoon. Ada improves to 7-2 on the season, while USV falls to 0-6.

COLUMBUS GROVE — The Ada boys track team was fifth with 41 points, while Riverdale’s boys were sixth with 36 points at the Columbus Grove Invitational on Friday night. Miguel Jordan was second in the 800 run (2:08.60) to lead the Bulldogs.

DEFIANCE — Defiance defeated Kenton 6-3 in a Western Buckeye League softball game on Friday. The Wildcats, who trailed 2-1 before giving up three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, fall to 3-4 on the season and 0-3 in WBL play.

ADA — Ada swept Marion Harding 5-0 in a boys tennis match on Friday afternoon. The Bulldogs dropped just one game in singles play as Zach Beaschler and Miranda Wills were 6-0, 6-0 winners and Cade Mullins was a 6-1, 6-0 victor. UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS — The Ohio Northern softball team swept John Carroll 1-0, 5-2 on Friday afternoon to extend its winning streak to seven games at Bracken Field in University Heights.

Kenton High School will hold a college coaches panel at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 18 in the KHS gymnasium. On the panel will be Ohio Northern football coach Dean Paul, ONU women’s basketball coach Michele Durand and Tiffin University assistant football coach Phillip Ely.
