The Trophy Bassmasters made one of the most productive trips of the season this past weekend as they made their annual trek north to the Detroit River near Trenton, Mich. All 13 anglers that competed had at least three fish, while seven of them had a five-fish limit. The club totaled 53 keepers of at least 14 inches for a total weight of 142.39 pounds.

The Riverdale Community Lions Golf Scramble was held July 22 at Lincoln Hills Golf Course in Upper Sandusky. This year, 18 teams/72 golfers, dodging the rain, split cash prizes and won individual contests.

A youth soccer camp for children ages 4 years and up and those going into 8th grade will begin Tuesday, Aug. 1 and go through Friday, Aug. 4. The camp will be at Kenton High School and run from 9 to 11 a.m.

BELLEFONTAINE — The Benjamin Logan Athletic Department will be hosting the Ohio High School Athletic Association mandatory parents meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3 in the high school auditorium. Each athlete must have a parent or guardian in attendance for the meeting in order to participate with a fall sports team.

Kenton High School girls tennis practice will run from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, and continue at the same time the rest of the week at the KHS courts. Any Kenton High School girls interested in playing are welcome.

CANTON — The Ohio Northern football team was selected to finish third in the Ohio Athletic Conference’s media poll and fourth in the coach’s poll in the Ohio Athletic Conference at the 2017 OAC Football Media Day held at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton.

The One Hit Wonders won the 2017 Kenton Adult Co-Ed Softball League championship by winning the league tournament recently at Home Run Memorial Park.

The 20th Annual McBlack Family Reunion gathered at Memorial Park Golf Club to play their tournament to benefit Ronald McDonald House charities of central Ohio. There were 54 players that participated in this unusual format, raising $1,630.00 for the House.
