The Trophy Bassmasters had to make a last minute switch of venues this past weekend. Heavy rains last week raised the water level at the scheduled site of Delaware Reservoir north of Columbus to 9 feet above normal summer lake levels.

FOREST — Jacob Rider and Samantha Unger were the top finishers in the Tree Town Trot recently held during the annual Forest summer festival. Rider finished the 5K race in a time of 18:27 and over a minute ahead of the second-place male Josh Fry, who finished in 19:46 and third place Miles Frey (20:45).

MCGUFFEY — The first practice for the Upper Scioto Valley Junior High football team will be from 3:30-5:30 p.m. July 31 at the football field.

The Ada Alligator boys swim team was fourth, while the Kenton Stingray boys were fifth at the Western Ohio Aquatic League swim meet held at the Kenton City Pool on Friday and Saturday.

The 2017 Kenton High School mini cheer clinic will be held from 6-8 p.m. July 31 through Aug.  on the high school lawn. The clinic, open to all students entering grades K-8, will be taught by the KHS cheerleaders and coaches. Registration will begin at 5 p.m. July 31.
