Miller’s steal, basket in final seconds lift Rams over Mohawk

SYCAMORE — Upper Scioto Valley pulled out a thriller on the mitts of Alyssa Miller. With 2.3 seconds remaining in a tie game and Mohawk inbounding with the full court to go, Miller stretched out her palms, knocked Grace Morehart’s quarterback-style pass down, quickly corralled the ball and layed in as time expired to lift the Rams over the Warriors, 38-36, in a grind-it-out, non-league regular season finale.

Ada falls short at L’view

VAN WERT — A fourth quarter rally came up short as Ada fell to Lincolnview 56-52 in a Northwest Conference girls basketball contest on Thursday. Haley Wyss had 24 points to lead Ada, which trailed 47-40 after three quarters before outscoring the hosts 12-9 over the final eight minutes.

ADA — On Friday, Ada’s Klava Katayama will attempt to accomplish something no Bulldog girl has done before as she looks to earn a trip to the state high school swimming championships when she competes in the Bowling Green Division II district meet. And by looking at the rankings going into the meet, Katayama stands a good chance.

Lady Polar Bears hold off Otterbein

WESTERVILLE — No. 5-ranked Ohio Northern survived a late rally from Otterbein to remain undefeated with a 61-59 women's basketball victory on Wednesday night at the Rike Center. The Polar Bears improve to 24-0 overall and are 17-0 in Ohio Athletic Conference play, while the Cardinals fall to 10-14, 6-11.
