Poor start dooms Kenton vs. Wapak

Wapakoneta forced Kenton into 10 first-quarter turnovers in jumping ahead by 15 points seven minutes into Friday’s Western Buckeye League boys basketball contest. It proved to be too big of a hole for the host Wildcats to dig out of as the Redskins rolled to a 61-47 victory. Kenton, which trailed 17-2 after seven minutes, never got closer than 11 points the rest of the game as the Wildcats fall to 1-5 overall and 0-2 in WBL action.

Edge at line lifts Gophers by Polar Bears

MOUNT VICTORY — A physical contest resulted in a combined 65 free-throw attempts between Hardin Northern and Ridgemont in a boys basketball game on Friday. The Gophers converted 28-of-44 free throws, while the Polar Bears were just 7-of-21, giving the Gophers the edge they needed in a 65-52 victory.

Fourth-quarter run pushes LTC by USV

McGUFFEY — Lima Temple Christian turned a tie game into a seven-point lead over the first 4:15 of the fourth quarter and led the rest of the way Friday night in a 71-63 Northwest Central Conference boys basketball victory over Upper Scioto Valley. Entering the fourth quarter tied at 46, USV and Temple traded baskets, but then the Pioneers scored seven straight points to go ahead 55-48.

Falcons fall one point short at home

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale fell into an early deficit against Pandora-Gilboa on Friday night and came up just short at the end, falling 45-44 in boys basketball action. Pandora-Gilboa led 18-13 after the first quarter, 26-24 at halftime and 37-35 after three quarters.

Bulldogs topped by Crestview

ADA — Crestview built a small lead over Ada after one quarter Friday night and kept expanding on it until the Knights pulled away in the fourth quarter for a 65-36 Northwest Conference boys basketball victory. The Knights (6-0) led 16-12 after the first quarter, 30-22 at halftime and 47-32 after three quarters.

Ben Logan gets by Graham, 55-49

BELLEFONTAINE — Ben Logan opened up an 11-point lead after the first quarter and held on for 55-49 victory over Graham in Central Buckeye Conference boys basketball on Friday night. The Raiders led 19-8 after the first quarter, 29-24 at halftime and 40-34 after three quarters.

Riverdale wins in dominant fashion

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Sydney Holderman scored 26 points and Janessa Taylor added 17 as Riverdale rolled to a 70-37 victory against Hopewell-Loudon in a Blanchard Valley Conference girls basketball game Thursday night.
