ONU to wear state-of-the-art football helmets

Ohio Northern football helmets

ADA — Ohio Northern University football players will play with more confidence this fall knowing that the finest football helmet on the market is protecting them. Thanks to a generous gift to the Polar Bear Club from the Walt and Teri Bettinger Foundation, every player on the Polar Bear roster will have the opportunity to wear a new state-of-the-art VICIS Zero1 football helmet, the top-rated helmet by the National Football League Players Association for three years running.

BL boys basketball to host camp

BELLEFONTAINE — The Benjamin Logan boys basketball program is hosting its annual youth basketball camp for any boys entering grades 3-6 from 5-8 p.m. July 16-18. The camp will be conducted by the Benjamin Logan High School coaching staff as well as numerous high school players.

The Senior League at Memorial Park Golf Course enjoyed the best weather of the year and Doug Roberts enjoyed the conditions to shoot a even par 36. He was the big winner with Lanny Dillon and Tom Myers finishing second. The overall leader continues to be Norm Newman, but Doug Roberts has moved into second place and Tom Myers has moved into third place.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — The many titles that new Riverdale girls basketball coach Mickie Bonham has held over the years exemplify her love of being around children. She has been a coach. Bonham coached junior high girls basketball at Riverdale from 2004-2012 and for two years alongside Randy Baker at Arcadia High School while she was a student teacher in 1999 and 2000.
