Kenton Red traveled to Mount Vernon Nazarene University for a 7-on-7 soccer tournament and finished the day 4-0-1 and champions in the varsity division.

The weekly winner in the Tuesday Senior League at Memorial Park Golf Course was Dick Battles with Jerry Fraber and Jim Ramge tied for second. Jerry Fraber extended his lead in the overall standings. Doug Camper moved up into second and John Hatcher moved up to third. Clarence Hensel and Roger Crowe fell back to fourth and sixth, respectively.

DES MOINES, Iowa — Just a few hours prior to running in the first round of the 2018 USATF Outdoor Championships on Saturday, Ohio Northern alum Emily Richards signed a professional contract with HOKA NY-NJ Track Club. Headed by Frank 'Gag' Gagliano, HOKA NJNYTC is training and competing some of the top middle distance athletes in the world.

The team from the Kenton Moose Lodge won the championship of the first Terry Devore Memorial Tournament at Kenton’s Waterworks Park. The tournament began Friday evening and wrapped up Saturday evening.

The Major League Reds defeated the Indians 22-4 in Kenton Little League play on Monday. Reds pitchers were Grady Kleman and Dawson Miller, who combned to strike out 7 batters and walk 9.

The host Kenton A team won the varsity division of the Kenton Cup 7 on 7 soccer tournament this past weekend. The Wildcats went 6-0 on the day in the 20 team tournament, defeating St. Marys 5-2 in the finals.

The weekly winner in the Senior League at Memorial Park Golf Course was Bob Terry. Mike Fink and Jim Ramge were tied for second. Jerry Fraber continues to lead the league, but Clarence Hensel has moved into second place and Roger Crowe has moved into third.

The Kenton Area Swim Team Stingrays hosted the Wapakoneta Waves on Thursday, with the Waves earning the win 690.5 to 470.5. The Stingray girls finished with 293.5 points to the Waves’ 324.5.

The Kenton Little League Braves defeated the Indians 18-9 in major league action on Thursday. Bill Wilkinson led the Braves at the plate, going 3-3 at the plate with two singles, a double and five RBI’s.
