LIMA — The Lima Symphony Orchestra kicks off a new season in search of their next conductor at the Veterans Memorial Civic Center in Lima on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 7:30 p.m.
Conducting finalist Nadège Foofat, accompanied by baritone soloist Jeremiah Sanders, will lead the orchestra in a program that is both fresh and nostalgic featuring Songs For Our New World.
FINDLAY — Billy Buchanan’s “Pioneers of Rock-n-Soul” show is set for 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 at the University of Findlay. It will be at Winebrenner Building’s TLB Auditorium. Tickets are $15 each at the door.
Buchanan’s nonstop, no-holds-barred performance, which will include a live band, channels soul greats such as Ray Charles, Sam Cooke, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, and other icons.
FINDLAY — Join legendary vocalist and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Mary Wilson, a founding Supremes Motown member and recent ABC Dancing with the Stars contestant, for an unforgettable concert at the University of Findlay on Nov. 8 that will raise funds to support the student-run UFTV station.
FINDLAY — The National Endowment for the Arts is awarding Marathon Center for the Performing Arts and Findlay Light Opera Company a grant of $10,000 to support a community production of The Music Man.
It is scheduled to be staged next year on Friday, June 19 and Saturday, June 20 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, June 21 at 3 p.m.
