The Hardin County Council on Aging held its annual meeting for 2016 on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Henry’s Restaurant.

Bellefontaine topped Kenton in a dual track meet on Thursday afternoon. The Chieftains won the girls meet 97-30 and the boys meet 98.5-38.5

Kenton is being given the opportunity to reimagine its downtown through a revitalization program. Aaron Domini, planner with OHM Advisors of Columbus, discussed the two-track project which first would focus below the surface, followed by a streetscape plan. About 40 community members attended an open house to learn about the plans on Wednesday evening at the Hardin County Courthouse.

LIMA — The Ohio State Lima Department of Theatre’s production of “She Kills Monsters” has a lot going for it – gelatinous killer cubes, goblins and angry fairies. Showtimes for the production are 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 31; 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 1; 7:30 p.m., Saturday, April 8 and 2 p.m. Sunday, April 9, 2017, in the Martha W. Farmer Theatre for the Performing Arts in Reed Hall.

After falling behind in the early innings, the Kenton baseball team gave itself a chance to win during its non-league game with Indian Lake on Wednesday night. While the Wildcats were able to tie the game and send it into extra innings, they weren’t able to answer an Indian Lake run in the bottom of the eighth inning as they fell to the Lakers 5-4.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale girls were second and the Falcon boys were third, but ended up three points away from winning, during a tri-meet with Carey and Hopewell-Loudon on Wednesday afternoon. Carey won the girls meet with 89.5 points, while Riverdale finished with 60.5 points and Hopewell-Loudon ended up with 25.

Indian Lake scored four unearned runs in the top of the third inning to take control of the game on the way to 13-5 over Kenton in a non-league softball contest on Wednesday afternoon.
