BL falls to Worthington Christian in season finale

BELLEFONTAINE — Down one to Worthington Christian after one quarter, Benjamin Logan was outscored 19-10 in the second quarter and trailed 41-31 at the half. The Raiders were unable to recover from the deficit, getting outscored 31-22 in the second half and falling 72-53 in Thursday night’s boys basketball contest.

Arlington blitzes past Lady Polar Bears

HARROD — Arlington jumped on top of Hardin Northern early and was able to coast through the second half for a 61-25 girls basketball victory in a Division IV sectional semifinal game at Allen East High School on Wednesday night. The Red Devils, who were led by Lindsay Dodds’ 18-point effort, jumped ahead 22-6 after eight minutes and 44-11 at halftime. A three-pointer by Sarah Solt on the Red Devils first possession of the third quarter pushed their lead over 35 points and forced a running clock for the remainder of the game.

COLDWATER — Lima Central Catholic outscored Riverdale 12-0 in the third quarter to pull away for a 63-46 victory in a Division IV sectional semifinal game at Coldwater on Tuesday night. Faith Jenkins netted 17 points and had 7 rebounds and 3 assists to lead the No. 8 seeded Gophers, who kept the game close in the first half, trailing 15-11 after eight minutes and 33-29 at halftime before being shut out in the third quarter.

Polar Bear women advance past BW

BEREA — The seventh-seeded Ohio Northern women's basketball program advanced to its 10th straight Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament semifinal on Tuesday evening, toppling second-seeded Baldwin Wallace 70-53 on the road in the OAC Tournament quarterfinals.

Davis, McElree pace Falcons

TIFFIN — Brock Davis led three Riverdale players in double figures with 16 points as the Falcons held off Tiffin Calvert 62-58 in a non-league boys basketball game on Tuesday night. The Falcons, who improved to 13-8, trailed 13-12 after eight minutes and 27-25 at halftime before taking control of the game with a 21-14 third quarter advantage.

Strong 2nd quarter propels Polar Bears

DOLA — Hardin Northern took control with a 10-point second quarter advantage on the way to a 56-43 non-league boys basketball victory over Arcadia on Tuesday night. The Polar Bears led 16-15 after eight minutes before outscoring the Redskins 12-2 in the second quarter to take a 28-17 lead into the half.
