MOUNT BLANCHARD — Bluffton outscored Riverdale in all four quarters on the way to a 45-32 victory over the Falcons in a non-league boys basketball contest on Saturday night.

ELIDA — After clawing their way back to take a four-point lead against Elida with four minutes to play, Kenton surrendered three-straight old-fashioned three-point plays to the Bulldogs in Friday night’s game. The Wildcats were unable to put the ball in the basket after that ended up falling to the Bulldogs 65-57.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — It was one of those nights for the Riverdale Falcons where the lid wouldn’t come off the basket. After the Cory-Rawson jumped to an early lead, the Falcons tried to shoot their way back into the contest to no avail.

WAYNESFIELD — Waynesfield-Goshen rallied in the fourth quarter to tie the game and then outscored the Polar Bears 10-8 in overtime to defeat Hardin Northern 59-57 in Northwest Central conference action on Friday. The Polar Bears, fall to 2-16 overall and 1-6 in the NWCC, led 27-23 at halftime and 37-32 after there quarters before being outscored 17-12 in the final eight minutes.

BLUFFTON — Bluffton outscored Ada in all four quarters en rout to a 57-45 Northwest Conference victory on Friday night. The host Pirates held a 17-15 lead after eight minutes and extended the advantage to 28-19 by halftime.

DeGRAFF — It took three overtime periods to decide, but ultimately the Upper Scioto Valley Rams fell to Riverside 71-69 in boys basketball action Friday night. The Northwest Central Conference loss gives the Rams a final league record of 5-2, 12-7 overall.

It wasn’t the prettiest of wins, but in the end it didn’t matter how it looked as the Kenton Lady Wildcats and their four seniors were able to celebrate with the pep band after a 50-38 girls basketball victory over Elida on Thursday night in their final home game of the season. After struggling at times to put the ball in the basket against the Bulldogs’ zone defense through the first three quarters, the Wildcats outscored Elida 18-7 in the final nine minutes of the game to pull away for their 15th win of the season.

DOLA — Ashton Dye’s three-pointer at the buzzer lifted Hardin Northern to a 42-39 victory over St. Wendelin in a non-conference girls basketball game on Thursday night. With the score tied, Dye took an inbound pass with four seconds left, drove the length of the court and fired up a shot from just inside the halfcourt line that went through the basket to win the game.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale took control early and then finished the job in the second half on the way to a 66-41 Blanchard Valley Conference girls basketball victory over Arcadia on Thursday night. The Falcons, who received 21 points from both Lexie Wright and Sydney Holderman, jumped ahead 24-9 after eight minutes and 40-21 at halftime before extending the advantage to 58-31 after three quarters.

LIMA — The Kenton girls bowling team was eighth and the Wildcats boys were ninth in the Western Buckeye League tournament held at 21st Century Lanes on Wednesday.
