Bluffton to host softball camp Posted on June 10, 2016 0 BLUFFTON — The Bluffton University softball team will host day camps for advanced and youth players. An advanced day camp, costing $75, will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 18-19. During the camp, for students entering grades 7-12, participants will have the opportunity to advance their skills in fielding, hitting, base running under the guidance of Bluffton coaches and players. A youth day camp, costing $45, will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 20. This camp is for students entering grades 1-6 in the fall. This camp will teach softball fundamentals including proper throwing, fielding and hitting mechanics. Bluffton coaches and players will also lead this camp. Learning will be emphasized through drills designed to improve technique in a fun, competitive atmosphere. Campers will need to bring a sack lunch, water bottle and all softball equipment. The camps will be held on the Bluffton University softball field, and all participants will receive a t-shirt. Registration forms can be found at www.bluffton.edu/athletics/softball.
