The Gophers (2-0) had 14 hits in the Northwest Central Conference contest, led by Zavier McGue and Garret Pitts, who had three singles each. Trenton Sparks added two hits. Jace McGue earned the pitching win, scattering five hits while striking out seven Pirates.
