TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say two people had to be rescued from a northwest Ohio river after a woman fell off a tube that was being pulled by a small boat and a man jumped in after her.

The Blade in Toledo reports the Coast Guard says the woman fell during a sudden windstorm on the Maumee River Sunday evening in Toledo. A man on the boat then dove in to try to help her. The Coast Guard says rescuers helped get her out. The man swam ashore.

Both were fatigued and had swallowed river water and were taken to a hospital. Their conditions and identities weren’t immediately released.
