Amanda Crates-Bayliff graciously hosted and welcomed 25 members of Kenton-Hardin Co. Soroptimist International on Dec. 3 at 6 p.m. Following the Soroptimist Grace the guests enjoyed her delicious dinner amid her beautifully Christmas decorated home near Dunkirk.

Twenty-four tables were beautifully decorated by hostesses at the St. John’s United Church of Christ Women’s Holiday Celebration on Nov. 19. Guests toured the room to view the uniquely decorated tables as Hope Cauley played Christmas music on the grand piano.

Twenty-four members and guests of the Ambassador Class met at the Murphy Ranch on Saturday, Dec. 5 for their class party. The group had a picture taken, followed by an invocation by Jesse Newman.

U.S. Air Force Airman Tanner L. Risner graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

COLUMBUS — Hunters checked 73,399 white-tailed deer during Ohio’s 2015 deer-gun hunting season, Nov. 30-Dec. 6, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR). This represents a significant increase over last year’s harvest of 65,484 deer.

Tracy L. Morrison, 620 N. Cherry St., reported a burglary at her residence. Branden Farley, 446 E. Columbus St., was westbound on E. Columbus Street, approaching the intersection of Oriental Street.
