Alger concerned with high rate of water usage

ALGER — With a few weeks left before water customers in Alger start paying for the water they use, village officials remain concerned with the high usage by some residents. Alger currently charges a flat rate for water service regardless of how much the consumer uses, but that is changing with the installation of water meters in the village.

Christmas lights popular in Dunkirk

DUNKIRK — Those traveling through the Village of Dunkirk at night recently have likely noticed the large amount of Christmas lights adorning the downtown area. Council President Bob Hayes said he’s heard from two out-of-town individuals about how nice the lights looked when passing through.
