Jo Walters, director of nursing at the Blanchard Place, was elected Dec. 16 to the national board of the National Association of Directors of Nursing Administration in Long-Term Care (NADONA/LTC).

Logan county teen shot and killed

BELLEFONTAINE, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say a 16-year-old boy died in an early morning shooting in Ohio over the weekend. The Logan County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to a Bloomfield Township home just before 4 a.m. Sunday and found the boy shot. ARLINGTON — Arlington used a big second quarter to pull away from Hardin Northern on Wednesday night for a 62-28 nonconference boys basketball victory. The Polar Bears hung with the Red Devils early, trailing only 10-9 after the first quarter.

Ridgemont defeats Vanlue by 10, 54-44

VANLUE — Ridgemont defeated Vanlue 54-44 in nonconference girls basketball Wednesday night. Sara McFadden and Priscilla Howland each scored 12 points to lead the Gophers. Howland grabbed 12 rebounds and McFadden had nine steals.
