Semi-trucks to barred

Kenton will address the problem of semi-trucks using a one-block section of North Street as a crossover from North Detroit Street (U.S. 68) to Main Street (Ohio 31). Councilwoman Antwilla Davis raised the issue at a Safety Committee meeting Tuesday afternoon.

Bingo slated Thursday

DUNKIRK — Bingo will be played Thursday from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Hardin Northern Community Center on North Main Street, Dunkirk. There is no charge to play but donations are accepted and appreciated.

Health insurance and Medicaid help offered

DUNKIRK — A marketplace navigator will be at the Hardin Northern Public Library in Dunkirk from 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday. She will answer questions about health insurance and the expanded Medicaid program, and help to determine eligibility and assist with the enrollment process.

S.O.U.P. services to provide free hot meals

The Hardin County Community S.O.U.P. services will provide free hot meals to the public from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 22-26 at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 211 E. Carrol St., Kenton. Bread, toiletries and clothing will be available at St. Anthony Center, 220 E. North St. (beside St. John’s) during the same hours.

Masonic pool: February 16, 2016

The Black team defeated the White team by 12 points in Masonic Pool, cutting the White team’s lead to 19 points in the tournament. High runs were had by Lou Downey (59, 41), Jeff Brown (57, 41), Boyd Downey (55, 45, 44), Chris Rogers (51, 40, 40), Marv Jallee (40) and Scott Good (40).

ONU president receives Phi Gamma Delta award

ADA — Daniel A. DiBiasio, president of Ohio Northern University, was awarded Phi Gamma Delta’s Distinguished Fiji Award at ONU’s Greek Awards Banquet on Feb. 14. The Distinguished Fiji Award is presented annually to no more than six graduate brothers who are deserving of recognition for their career accomplishments, their special contribution to mankind and society at large, or their faithful and unselfish service to Phi Gamma Delta.
