A Marion man was sent to prison for two years after he pleaded guilty to one count each of theft and breaking and entering the Showplace Rent-to-Own store in Kenton. According to records from Hardin County Common Pleas Court provided by Prosecutor Brad Bailey's office, James Bennett Chafin, Marion, drove with an accomplice to Showplace at 5:41 a.m. on Feb. 11, 2018, and smashed a glass door to gain entrance to the business.

A Findlay man was sent to prison for more than six years after he pleaded guilty to charges from an incident on April 10 in which he used a shotgun to blast his way into a Kenton home and then took part in a high speed chase through the city. The case was heard in Hardin County Common Pleas Court.

Hardin County Recorder Brenda Rainsburg released the following property transfers for June: Barbara Brown to Alan Szczepkowski – Inlot 38 and part of Lot 41, Charles H. Shanafelt’s Third Addition, Kenton. Tax $124.

A Bowling Green man was sent to prison for five years and classified as a Tier II sexual offender after he made sexual advances to a ten-year-old girl as she was sleeping. According to court records from Prosecutor Brad Bailey’s office, Ray Clifford Garza Jr., 29, of Bowling Green, was a guest in the house where the incident occurred on Jan. 2.

The Hardin County Veteran’s Service Commission reported issuing 16 vouchers for the month of June totaling $1,854.35. Of that amount, two vouchers worth $250 were issued for food and another $1,694,35 for utilities and other expenses.
