Mark Rush was elected president of the Kenton Board of Education during its reorganizational meeting Monday night. Mark Watkins was elected vice president.

ALGER — The water tower in Alger will be given a full-inspection before the village moves forward with replacing it. The board of public affairs voted Monday night to contract with Pittsburgh Tank to inspect the tower inside and out.

A fire at a vacant house on Letson Street in Kenton on Saturday night remains under investigation. According to a report from the Kenton Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched at 9:57 p.m. to a structure fire at 247 W. Letson St.

Kenton police A possible non-injury crash was reported at Jacob Parrott Boulevard and Franklin Street.

Though originally from Oxford in southwestern Ohio, Rev. Vanessa Cummings spent time in Kenton as a child, traveling with her father Virgil, a pastor who supervised the district. Now a pastor herself, Vanessa returned to Kenton just over four years ago to serve at Payne Chapel African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church and was reunited with those with whom she grew up.

Friday Mabel Radcliffe, LaRue, was traveling north on S. Main Street, while Donald B. Graves, Detroit, Mich., was traveling east on Letson Avenue, stopped at the stop sign.

ADA – The Ohio Northern University HealthWise Pharmacy recently opened in the Robertson-Evans Pharmacy Building at ONU, located at 511 W. Lincoln Ave., Ada. The pharmacy, which is located next to the Pierstorf Family Pharmacy Museum, is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
