Hardin Northern FFA hosted its chapter banquet on Thursday, April 4. The night featured a catered meal, award recognitions, degree ceremonies, a live auction, and scholarship presentations. The meal was catered by Graze On from Waynesfield.

The Hardin County Wranglers 4-H Club held its second meeting on April 7 at 6:30 p.m. at the Hardin County Extension Office. There were 13 members, six advisors and four parents present.

Sue Buroker was overwhelmed with paperwork as she helped organize the state ritual competition at the Ohio Elks Convention in Dublin over the weekend. She was so wrapped up in her work, she said, that she didn't really hear who was in line to be named Ohio's Elk of the Year.

Cast members from the Upper Scioto Valley Drama Club are all set to take part in their presentation of the musical comedy “Nonsense in the North Woods.” The show will be presented in the USV auditeria Saturday, April 13 at 8 p.m., and Sunday, April 14 at 2:30 p.m. Admission is $7.

McGUFFEY — Upper Scioto Valley plated two runs in the bottom of the first inning to grab the lead and added three more in the fourth inning to pull away for a 5-1 win over Ridgemont in a Northwest Central Conference baseball game Monday afternoon.

McGUFFEY — Ridgemont scored five runs over the final two innings to pull away for a 12-7 softball victory over Upper Scioto Valley on Monday afternoon. Amanda Howland drove in the go-ahead runs for the Gophers with a two-run triple in the top of the sixth inning.

FINDLAY — Riverdale scored multiple runs in four different innings, including five runs in the fifth inning, on the way to a 14-7 victory over Liberty-Benton in a Blanchard Valley Conference softball game on Monday. Riverdale improves to 5-0 on the season.

Ben Logan softball standout Grace Deardurff (second from right) recently signed a letter of intent to continue her education and play softball at the University of Northwestern Ohio in Lima after she graduates this spring.

On April 2, Hardin County Homemakers celebrated 70 years of being an organized group affiliated with Ohio State Extension. The title of this year’s Spring Achievement and Cultural Arts Day was titled “Hats Off to Homemakers” with 67 homemakers and guests which was held at the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge, Kenton.
