The Trophy Bassmasters of Kenton traveled to Alum Creek in central Ohio recently for the fourth club tournament of the season. Fourteen anglers made the trip for the 8 1/2-hour competition day and a total of 18 keepers of at least 12 inches were scored weighing in at 35.70 pounds.

Hardin County Pioneers Track Team came home with 14 Gold, 15 Silver, 17, Bronze, 10-4th, and 5-5th during a meet in Bluffton recently. Kenton Elementary School presented its monthly leadership award to a group of students. The criteria for the award is based on students displaying attributes that include The 7 Habits as well as virtues such as Leadership, Integrity, Caring, Respect, Responsibility, Determination, Willpower, Trustworthiness, Fairness, Empathy, Citizenship, and Compassion.

Hardin Memorial Hospital in Kenton is inviting the public to tour the facility improvements and see the services it can now offer to patients. The Open House and Health Fair is planned for Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m.

Hardin County Commissioner Roger Crowe stands with some of the new veterans banners which were put on display throughout Kenton on Monday morning. DOLA — Using her background as an educator, Darlene Wilson brings her teaching experiences into Hardin Northern’s high school library. Darlene spent the first two years of her career teaching English at Hardin Northern, her alma mater, and came back to the school as part-time librarian in 2005.
