MOUNT BLANCHARD — Elgin pulled away from Riverdale in the middle innings on the way to a 20-9 five-inning victory in a non-league baseball game on Thursday. With the score tied 3-3 after one inning, Elgin plated two runs in the second, six in the third and two more in the fourth to go ahead 13-3.

Gossard has another big day at plate for Ada

ADA — Madisyn Gossard homered for the third time in four games as Ada pulled away for a 19-1 victory over Delphos Jefferson in a Northwest Conference softball game on Thursday. Gossard had three hits in the game with a home run, a double and six RBIs as the Raiders jumped ahead 8-0 after one inning and 14-0 after two frames.

NORTH BALTIMORE — North Baltimore got off to a fast start at the plate, scoring eight runs over the first two innings in pulling away for a 13-3 non-league softball victory over Hardin Northern on Thursday. The Polar Bears, who fall to 2-5, plated two runs in the top of the fourth to get within 8-2, including one on an RBI single by Cassidy Deckling, before the Tigers put the game away with three runs in the bottom half of the frame and two more in the fifth.

BELLEFONTAINE — Ben Logan scored nine runs against Riverside on Thursday afternoon, unfortunately the Lady Raiders were unable to keep the Pirates off the scoreboard as the visitors pulled away for a 16-9 victory in the non-league softball matchup.

Polar Bears unable to keep pace with Tigers

NORTH BALTIMORE — Hardin Northern was unable to match North Baltimore at the plate as the Tigers pulled away for a 17-7 non-league baseball victory over the Polar Bears on Thursday. With the score tied 3-3 after one inning, the Tigers plated five runs in the fifth inning to gain the upperhand.

Jefferson shuts out Ada

ADA — Delphos Jefferson defeated Ada 10-0 in a Northwest Conference baseball game on Thursday afternoon. The Wildcats scored two runs in the first inning before adding three more in the fourth frame and five in the fifth.

Five-run innings lift Arcadia to win over USV

ARCADIA — Arcadia scored five runs in each of the first three innings on the way to a 15-3 non-league softball win over Upper Scioto Valley on Thursday afternoon. Briona Hurley had a hit and two RBIs and Rylee Leonard had an RBI double to lead the Rams at the plate. Rylee Shepherd also singled.
