BL golf wins tri-match

BELLEFONTAINE — The Ben Logan boys golf team won a tri-match with Indian Lake and Riverside on Thursday. The Raiders carded a 176, followed by Riverside with a 203 and Indian Lake with a 220.

KHS grads ready to help out Ashland

Soaring Eagles

When Ashland University travels to Indiana, Pa., tonight to kick off its football season, the Eagle lineup will be dotted with the words Kenton, Ohio, after several names at various positions on the field. Former Kenton High School standouts Travis and Trevor Downing and Tristan Reichelderfer all are hoping to make significant contributions to the Eagles success this fall after waiting their turn to see playing time the last couple seasons.

‘Cats travel to Celina in search of first win

After a strong finish last week against Coldwater in which the Kenton football team fell a Hail Mary short of rallying to at least have a chance to tie the game, the Wildcats are looking to get into the win column when they travel to Celina for their Western Buckeye League opener on Friday. Kickoff is at 7 p .m.

Falcons, Polar Bears to meet on gridiron

When Hardin Northern travels to Riverdale for a week two gridiron matchup on Friday night, the neighboring schools both will be looking to improve to 2-0 on the season. Hardin Northern accumulated more than 500 yards of offense on the way to a 57-35 win over Arcadia last Friday, while the Falcons took advantage of four Waynesfield-Goshen turnovers in pulling away to a 40-18 win over Waynesfield-Goshen.

HARROD — The Upper Scioto Valley golf team defeated Waynesfield-Goshen 191-202 in a Northwest Central Conference golf match at Colonial Golf Course on Wednesday afternoon. Raiders split tri-match

BELLEFONTAINE — The Ben Logan boys golf team split a tri-match with Bellefontaine and Tecumseh on Wednesday night. The Chieftains won the match with a team score of 161, followed by Ben Logan at 166 and Tecumseh with a 191.

Holland scores twice, Wildcats, Celina tie 2-2

Hannah Holland scored the second of her two goals on a run early in the second half to push the Kenton girls soccer team to a 2-2 tie with Celina in the Western Buckeye League opener for both teams on Tuesday night. The Wildcats, who fell behind 2-1 after a goal by Celina less than a minute into the second half, tied the game seven minutes later when Holland took a pass up the middle from Sydney Plott that went past a Celina defender.
