Youth wrestling competes at mini-meet in Beavercreek

BEAVERCREEK — The Kenton Youth Wrestling team competed against 600 wrestlers from 19 other teams in a MVKWA mini-meet in Beavercreek on Sunday Gavin Sealscott moved to 15-0 in the 6-year-old, 50-pound weight class with wins over wrestlers from Bellebrook, Vandalia-Butler and Tecumseh. He recorded six takedowns, 3 near falls, 3 reversals, 1 escape and a pin in the meet.

Mans, Temple Christian edges Riverdale in OT

MANSFIELD — With four seconds left in overtime, Riverdale surrendered a shot to Mansfield Temple Christian to go down two points in a non-conference boys basketball game Saturday night. Following a timeout, a Riverdale inbounds pass to halfcourt went off the Falcons’ hands and out of bounds, allowing the Crusaders to inbound and run out the clock for the 60-58 win.

Bluffton outshoots Lady Falcons

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale surrendered 11 three-pointers to Bluffton on its way to a 56-47 non-conference girls basketball loss Saturday afternoon. After finishing the first quarter up two, the Falcons were outscored by Bluffton (13-4) 22-14 in the second and trailed 35-29 at the half.

Allen East defeats Polar Bear, 71-48

DOLA — Allen East outscored Hardin Northern by 21 points over the middle two quarters on the way to a 71-48 victory over the Polar Bears in a non-conference boys basketball game on Saturday night. Leading 18-16 after one quarter, the Mustangs outscored the Polar Bears 20-10 in the second quarter to make it 38-26 at halftime, before extending their advantage to 59-37 after three quarters.
