ADA — Ada girls basketball coach Bill Taflinger felt pretty comfortable with where his team was late in the third quarter. The Bulldogs trailed by one, were sitting in a zone and Kenton was using a methodical pace on offense.

McGUFFEY — When Upper Scioto Valley hosted Ben Logan on Saturday night, the Rams hadn’t played a game in 11 days. Any concerns about rust were quickly eliminated as the Rams – behind the post tandem of Chase Rose and Trevor Dotson – dominated the contest from the second quarter on and powered past the Raiders 72-44 in the non-league contest.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Coming off a pair of losses in Wapakoneta, the Riverdale girls basktball team got back to its bread and butter. The Falcons shook off the rust from last week’s holiday tournament with a resolute defensive effort in a 62-42 win against Mohawk on Saturday.

DOLA — Hardin Northern outscored Vanlue by 10 points in the fourth quarter Saturday to pull away for a 67-49 victory in nonconference boys basketball. After an even first quarter, the Polar Bears led 27-22 at halftime and 48-40 after three quarters.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale was athletically overmatched in a non-league game against Lima Perry on Saturday. It only showed at the ends of each half. The visiting Commodores rode an outstanding effort from lead guard Jakoby Lane-Harvey to a 65-48 win.

MOUNT VICTORY — Ridgemont came from behind to earn an 85-81 victory over Delaware Christian in nonconference boys basketball Saturday.

ADA — Ada dominated the first half Saturday on its way to a 53-37 nonconference boys basketball victory over New Knoxville. The Bulldogs (5-5) led 12-6 after the first quarter and 31-14 at halftime.

SPENCERVILLE — Spencerville defeated Ridgemont 54-41 on Saturday in nonconference girls basketball. Meadow Cromer scored 14 points to lead the Gophers (7-5). Priscilla Howland had another double-double for Ridgemont, scoring 13 points and grabbing rebounds.

ARLINGTON — Arlington took control early Saturday and cruised to a 97-25 nonconference girls basketball victory over Hardin Northern. Arlington (11-0) led 31-9 after the first quarter and 51-13 at halftime.
