ONU women pull away in third quarter versus Quakers

WILMINGTON — A 27-point third quarter helped the No. 14 Ohio Northern women's basketball team pull away for a 69-53 victory at Wilmington on Wednesday night. The Polar Bears improve to 17-3 overall and stay on top of the Ohio Athletic Conference with a 12-1 league mark, while the Quakers fall to 7-12, 4-9.

Polar Bears top 100 again in victory

ADA — Nate Burger and Ryan Bruns led six Ohio Northern players in double figures in scoring with 16 points each in a 103-94 victory over Wilmington on Wednesday night. The Polar Bears improve to 9-11 overall and 6-7 in Ohio Athletic Conference play, while the Quakers fall to 3-15, 2-11.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — The Mohawk-Riverdale boys basketball game was back and forth for most of four quarters Tuesday night with the Falcons clinging to a two-point lead with under a minute left. However, it was the Warriors who made three key plays when the game was on the line to edge the host Falcons 53-52 in a non-league contest.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — The girls on the Riverdale basketball team wanted to leave their home court for the final time in the 2015-16 season on a happy note when they hosted Upper Scioto Valley on Monday night. The game didn’t start out as planned as the Falcons fell behind by 10 early points early in the second quarter.
