WILMINGTON — A 27-point third quarter helped the No. 14 Ohio Northern women's basketball team pull away for a 69-53 victory at Wilmington on Wednesday night. The Polar Bears improve to 17-3 overall and stay on top of the Ohio Athletic Conference with a 12-1 league mark, while the Quakers fall to 7-12, 4-9.

ADA — Nate Burger and Ryan Bruns led six Ohio Northern players in double figures in scoring with 16 points each in a 103-94 victory over Wilmington on Wednesday night. The Polar Bears improve to 9-11 overall and 6-7 in Ohio Athletic Conference play, while the Quakers fall to 3-15, 2-11.

BELLEFONTAINE — Ben Logan swept Indian Lake and Riverside in a bowling tri-match Wednesday afternoon. The Raiders won with 2,640 pins. Indian Lake bowled a 2,324 and Riverside shot 2,213.

Kenton had trouble shooting Tuesday night and it cost them. The Wildcats shot less than 30 percent from the field for the game in a 74-67 nonconference girls basketball loss to River Valley.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — The Mohawk-Riverdale boys basketball game was back and forth for most of four quarters Tuesday night with the Falcons clinging to a two-point lead with under a minute left. However, it was the Warriors who made three key plays when the game was on the line to edge the host Falcons 53-52 in a non-league contest.

Kenton earned its first wrestling win of the season as a team Tuesday night, defeating Shawnee 30-21 in a Western Buckeye League dual match. “It feels pretty good. We work really hard, but it’s more difficult to win when you don’t have a full team,” Kenton senior Tobias Mendoza said.

MOUNT VICTORY — Ridgemont dominated Mount Gilead in nonconference girls basketball Tuesday night, winning 60-27 in the Gophers’ home finale.

BELLEFONTAINE — Stebbins dominated the third quarter Tuesday night to turn a halftime deficit into a lead on its way to defeating Ben Logan 63-48 in boys basketball action.

WAYNESFIELD — Ada pulled away from Waynesfield-Goshen in the fourth quarter Tuesday night for a 64-45 boys basketball victory.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — The girls on the Riverdale basketball team wanted to leave their home court for the final time in the 2015-16 season on a happy note when they hosted Upper Scioto Valley on Monday night. The game didn’t start out as planned as the Falcons fell behind by 10 early points early in the second quarter.
