ELIDA — Kenton and Celina played scoreless soccer for the first 60 plus minutes of their Division II district semifinal girls soccer matchup on Wednesday night.

The Hardin County Family YMCA in Kenton will offer a variety of basketball programs to area youth this winter.

Kenton and Hardin Northern remain among the top eight in the official weekly football computer ratings released by the Ohio High School Athletic Association on Tuesday.

The Trophy Bassmasters competed in their 10th club tournament of the season recently on Lake Erie. Eighteen anglers made the trip north for a nine-hour competition day. Sixteen of the 18 members brought in at least 1 keeper bass of 14 inches or more. The club total was 55 bass and 120.28 pounds.

ELIDA — The Kenton boys soccer team’s post-season “revenge tour” made another stop in Elida on Monday as the Wildcats, who lost to Celina 1-0 on Sept. 5, defeated the Bulldogs 3-0 in a Division II district semifinal match.

COLUMBUS GROVE — Five area runners qualified for the Division III regional cross country meet during district competition at Columbus Grove on Saturday. Upper Scioto Valley’s Joe Parker and Zack Britton and Riverdale’s Eli Weber all finished in the top 12 in the District I race to qualify for Saturday’s meet in Tiffin.

Kenton junior Kierra Krohmer was seventh of 88 runners at the Division II district cross country meet to qualify for this week’s regional meet in Tiffin. Krohmer finished in a time of 20:15.6 to lead the Lady Wildcats, who ended up seventh of 13 teams

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS — Junior All-American Christiaan Williams had a record-setting afternoon, but Ohio Northern fell 44-10 at No. 13-ranked John Carroll on Saturday afternoon at Don Shula Stadium. Williams ran 25 times for 127 yards for the Polar Bears (3-3 overall, 3-2 Ohio Athletic Conference).

NEW CARLISLE — The Ben Logan volleyball team lost a five-set match to Greenville in the sectional final 25-18, 13-25, 22-25, 25-19, 15-13 on Saturday. The Raiders bow out at 17-7 on the season.

BELLEFONTAINE — Bellefontaine defeated Ben Logan 1-0 in the second round of Division II sectional tournament action on Saturday at Bellefontaine High School.
