BUCYRUS — Amanda Howland was the only Ridgemont athlete to qualify for regional competition on Saturday at the Division III district track meet at Bucyrus. The Gopher freshman will be moving onto regional competition in Lancaster after placing third in the pole vault with a leap of 9-0.

TIPP CITY — Ben Logan rallied from two deficits to defeat East Clinton 5-4 to win a Division II District Championship on Saturday afternoon. The Raiders overcame deficits of 2-0 and 4-3 as they rallied for the tying run in the bottom of the sixth inning before getting the game-winner on an RBI single by Haley Wilson in the bottom of the seventh.

ST. PARIS — The Ben Logan boys and girls track teams had several athletes qualify for regional competition during the Division II district track and field meet at Graham on Saturday. Bryson Tipton led the way for the Raider boys, placing second in the 1,600 run in a time 4:41.96. The top four in each event qualified for the regional meet in Piqua, which takes place on Thursday and Saturday.

DEFIANCE — Four athletes and one relay team for the Kenton Wildcats track and field squad advanced to next week’s regional competition in Piqua by placing in the top four during Friday’s Division II district competition in Defiance.

BOWLING GREEN — With all three of its competitors bowing out in the first round, the Ada tennis team didn’t have the type of day it wanted Thursday at the Division III district tournament at Bowling Green State University. Even so, Bulldog mentor Cody Hurley said his returning players picked up valuable experience in the competition.

FINDLAY — Several individuals and a pair of area relay teams punched their tickets to next week’s regional track meet during district competition in Findlay on Thursday. Riverdale’s Tayler Ashburn advanced with a second place finish in the high jump. Her leap of 5-0 was only topped by Arlington’s Hannah Willow, who had a jump of 5-6. Hardin Northern’s Renee Newton also earned a regional spot in the high jump with a leap of 4-10 for a fourth place effort.

BELLEFONTAINE — The Ben Logan baseball team gave Springfield Northwestern an extra out in the bottom of the second inning and it proved costly for the Raiders in a 4-1 Southwest District sectional loss to the Warriors on Thursday afternoon.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Trailing Riverdale by three runs after four innings, Arcadia scored two runs in the fifth inning and three more in the seventh to rally for a 6-4 Division IV sectional championship over the Falcons on Thursday afternoon.

TIFFIN — Riverdale plated four runs in the top of the sixth inning to rally for a 5-3 victory over Columbian in a non-league softball game on Thursday afternoon. Alison Donaugh had three hits with an RBI and Brooke Walter had two hits with a double and an RBI to lead the Raiders. Alyssa McCloud also had two hits with an RBI.

WAPAKONETA — Wapakoneta pitcher Brady Erb tossed a one-hitter and the Redskins found their swing in the late innings on the way to a 7-1 victory over the Wildcats in a sectional semifinal baseball contest on Wednesday afternoon.
