RIDGEWAY — Through four-and-a-half innings, the bats remained mostly quiet in Friday’s Division IV sectional final softball contest between No. 5 seeded Hardin Northern and No. 4 Ridgemont.

CAREY — Carmen Conigy held on in the outfield, and so did Carey in the game. Conigy’s diving catch in foul territory in right field stopped a Riverdale rally as Blue Devils slipped past the Falcons 2-1 in a Division IV sectional final game Friday at Waterworks Park.

McGUFFEY — Upper Scioto Valley scored four runs in each of the first three innings on the way to a 12-1 victory over Hardin Northern in a Northwest Conference baseball contest on Friday afternoon. Quinn Sanders had three hits with a pair of doubles and three RBIs to lead the Rams at the plate, while Wayne Lowery added two hits with a double and two RBIs and Dylan Thompson had a double and two RBIs. JJ Overs finished with three hits including a double.

ADA — Lincolnview scored in all five innings it batted, including 12 runs in the top of the fourth inning in blasting Ada 23-1 in a Northwest Conference baseball game on Friday afternoon. The Bulldogs, who scored their lone run in the second inning, were held to four hits in the game as Dylan East, Connor Frazier, Josh Morgan and Noah Garmon all had singles. Frazier had an RBI.

DOLA — Hardin Northern High School is accepting applications for a head varsity volleyball coach for the 2019-2020 school year. Interested candidates should send a cover letter and resume with references to Athletic Director Brady Mast at brady.mast@hardinnorthern.org.

LIMA — The Kenton tennis team finished its season during the opening day of the Division II sectional tournament at the University of Northwestern Ohio. Taj Chahal, Rylee Messenger and Cameron Zickafoose all went 1-1 in singles play while the doubles teams of Ian Lyons/Rocco Longbrake and Landon Rush/Hayden Robinson were 0-1 in opening round matches.
