ADA — Ada dominated the first half and cruised to a 50-25 Northwest Conference girls basketball victory over Lincolnview on Thursday night. The Bulldogs led 27-7 at halftime and did not let the Lancers get closer than 17 in the second half.

ARCADIA — Arcadia could not let Syndey Holderman keep beating them the way she did in the first half. She did not, but instead, Taylor Frey did. Holderman scored all of her 19 points in the first half, and Frey hit three 3-pointers in the third quarter to finish with 17 points as Riverdale cruised to a 71-51 victory at Arcadia on Thursday night.

A memorial service for Melissa Bailey will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Alger Assmbly of God Church. She died at 4:53 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016 at Lima Memorial Hospital.

Alliance seeks county’s help on signs

The Hardin County Commissioners are being asked to help pay to change the signs which welcome motorists to the county. President and CEO of the Hardin County Chamber and Business Alliance, Jon Cross, noted the motto appearing on the signs, “Hardin County - A great place to call home” has been changed to read “A great place to live, work and prosper.”
