Wapakoneta defeated Kenton 4-1 in a Western Buckeye League girls tennis matchup on Monday afternoon. The Wildcats’ lone victory came at No. 1 singles as Mykaela Schriber bested Makayla Schroeder in a three-set match 6-4, 3-6, 6-4.

ADA — After winning game two handily and with its match against Ben Logan tied at one game apiece, the Ada volleyball team appeared to have momentum on its side Monday night. Instead, it was the visiting Raiders that found some electricity in their game, taking charge to easily win the final two games for a 29-27, 18-25, 25-16, 25-14 victory in the non-league matchup.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Gabi Rodriguez scored both Riverdale goals as the Lady Falcons defeated Woodmore 2-0 in a non-league soccer match Monday night. Lexie Wright had a long throw-in for an assist on the first goal, while the second goal came on a free kick.

VAN WERT — The Kenton golf team picked up its second Western Buckeye League victory of the year, defeating Van Wert 172-194 at Willow Bend Country Club on Monday. The Wildcats’ Rocco Longbrake carded a 42 to lead Kenton and finish second overall in the match.

URBANA — The Ben Logan boys golf team fired a 171 team score to win a tri-match with Urbana and Springfield Northeastern on Monday afternoon. Urbana was second in the team scoring with a 184, while Northeastern shot a 186.

Kenton High School will be honoring the 1987 Wildcat football team prior to the current KHS team’s game against Defiance at Robinson Field on Sept. 8. The event will commemorate the 30th anniversary of the team’s Western Buckeye League championship.

DOLA — Hardin Northern swept North Baltimore 25-10, 25-13, 25-14 in a non-league volleyball matchup on Monday night. Cassidy Deckling led the Hardin Northern attack with 10 kills, while Morgan Pauley and Shelby Alloway added 7 spikes each and Rylie Bame chipped in with 6.

URBANA — The Benjamin Logan girls golf team edged Urbana by one stroke 228-229 at the Urbana Country Club on Monday. The Raiders’ Mailiis Simovart shot a 43 to claim medalist honors.

SIDNEY — Lehman Catholic defeated Upper Scioto Valley 174-187 in a boys golf match on Monday afternoon. Brady Hipsher carded a 39 for the Rams to finish second overall.

The Kenton High School varsity cheerleaders won a competition for the second consecutive week, placing first and winning grand champion honors at the Carey cheerleading competition on Sunday.
