FOREST — Thin Mints, Samoas, and Tagalongs are the three most popular Girl Scout Cookies in America, Hardin County seems to agree.

A total of 1,469 cases of Girl Scout cookies were delivered to Pam Thames’ garage in Forest on Tuesday. Thames said that 14 different Girl Scout troops were to pick up the boxes.

The cookies travel from Louisville, Ky., through the Girl Scouts of Western Ohio, which services scouts from Toledo to Cincinnati.

Each case contains 12 boxes of cookies, which means Thames had 17,628 boxes of cookies in her garage.

The cases picked up by the troops will fill orders taken and also will be used for booths set up by the Girl Scouts. Thames said some of the places that the scouts set up in Kenton are Walmart, Shoe Sensation, Showplace and Newland-Heydinger Insurance.

She also said it’s not too late to order some cookies.

“As you can see, Thin Mints are the most popular,” said Thames.

She said her role in Girl Scouts started when her daughters were involved. She said she had a smaller garage that eventually spilled over to her mother-in-law’s next door.

Since then Thames has built a big, heated building with plenty of room for cookies and sorting.
