James Paul Holland, 416 E. Franklin St., reported an unknown person kicked in the rear door while he was sleeping inside. While mowing grass for the City of Kenton beside the river near Wharton Park, Tevin Allen Joseph Klausing found a gun. The KPD identified the stolen weapon and returned it to its owner. The gun appeared to have been in the weather for a long period of time, according to the report.

Cafeteria staff from Kenton City Schools has added three new feeding sites in an effort to reach more children this summer through the USDA Summer Food Service Program. The free summer lunch program, which will begin on Monday, June 10, is open to any children under age 18. ALGER — When a recent tornado warning was issued for the village of Alger, the town's new storm siren worked well. In fact, said Mayor Von Summa, it worked too well. Once it was activated by the dispatcher at the sheriff's office during the storm on May 27, it continued to sound long after the danger had passed.
